speed up system shutdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Windows attempts to stop all running tasks. If a task is not responding or refuses to shut down, there’s a built-in delay before
Windows will force the task to end. This delay is called the timeout, and it can be shortened if you’re experiencing problems or unreasonable delays
when shutting down your system:
1. Open the Registry Editor .
2. Expand the branches to HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
3. Double-click the WaitToKillAppTimeou t value.
This number controls the time to wait, in milliseconds, before unresponsive applications are forced to close. The default is 20000 (twenty seconds), but it can be
decreased to any value; the minimum is 1 millisecond, although it’s impractical to use any value smaller than about 2000 (two seconds) here.
4. Also in this key is the HungAppTimeout value, which does pretty much the same thing as WaitToKillAppTimeou t; just enter the same number for both values.
5. Expand the branches to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\CurrentCo ntrolSet\ Control.
6. Double-click the WaitToKillServiceTi meout value. This works the same as the WaitToKillAppTimeou t value described above, except that it
applies to services instead of applications.
7. Close the Registry Editor when you’re done. You’ll have to restart Windows for the change to take effect.
These values also affect the timeouts at times other than just shutting down, such as when you click End Process in the Windows Task Manager.
IMPROVING BOOTUP TIME
A great new feature in Microsoft Windows XP is the ability to do a boot defragment. This places all boot files next to each other on the disk to allow for faster booting. By default this option is enabled, but on some systems it is not, so below is the information on how to turn it on:
Go to Start Menu and Click Run
Type in regedit then click ok
Find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOpt imizeFunction"
Select "Enable" from the list on the right
Right on it and select "Modify"
Change the value to Y .
Reboot your Pc and see the change yourself.
GETTING BACK MISSING FOLDER OPTIONS
Open Run and then type "gpedit.msc".
Now goto User Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer.
Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen "Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu"
Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured.
I hopes that you will find the option after restarting windows.
Want To Rename Your Recycle Bin!!!Too Cool!
To change the name of the Recycle Bin desktop icon, click Start then goto Run,
write Regedit and press Enter. It opens Registry Editor. Now in Registry Editor go to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
and change the name "Recycle Bin" to whatever you want (don't type any quotes)

njoy!!!
Make ur personal file as a control panel
Hi friends,
I worked a lot on the file system of windows and found many things. And i would like to expalin one of it. The thing is in windows we had Recycle Bin,Control panel, My computer etc,etc. What the windows does is that they are also files and what it does is that it adds an extra extension to the file (like .TXT, .PDF) etc. This extension makes the file to become a Recycle or COntrol Panel or My Computer ect depending on the extension code.
For example the file extension of Ctrl Panel is {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
To make a file into a ctrl panel what we should do is that we should rename the file to "anyname" followed by the code
Ex : hari.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
hacker.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
make shore there are no space in the "any name" field.
Now our file has become a control panel and it makes the outers that it should not be touched and deleted.
Now the final step is to bring back our file form the control panel. To do this we use DOS.
Suppose that this "hari" file is in C: drive
now go to DOS Prompt
there type
ren newfile name hari.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} and hit enter
Ex: ren krishna hari.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
now our original file is the file named as "krishna"
hope that u enjoy this trick also i may provide more code to other file if u encourage me
Thanks and hope u enjoy ur secret files safe and secure.
open ms word & type the following line without inverted commas :-
"=rand (200, 99)"
& Then Press Enter....
-----------------------------------------------------
Try this once!!!!!!!! Its amazing
You can listen to any PDF instead of reading with Adobe Reader 7 .0 Or 6.0, and the short cut is:
Ctrl+shift+b - to hear the entire Document
Ctrl+shift+v - to hear the page
Ctrl+shift+c - to resume
Ctrl+shift+e - to stop
Open any PDF File and test....
