Lefortovo tunnel  is a road tunnel in Moscow, Russia that is part of the Third Ring road. At 2.2 km  long ,it is the third longest in-city tunnel of Europe .The tunnel runs under the Yauza River, and water leaks in at some points. The temperature reaches around −38 degrees Celsius  during  winter & the road surface can freeze leading to many accidents.

It has been nicknamed "The Tunnel of Death" due to its extremely high accident rate.
